How to schedule multiple posts in WordPress- Easy Guide

If you are running a blog, then you may know the importance of scheduling post; however, many people these days don’t have any idea on how to schedule posts in WordPress.

With many people running interesting blogs on WordPress, it becomes necessary to post some articles on a regular basis, but it is quite a difficult task to accomplish.

In such cases, scheduling posts are considered as the most appropriate idea as you can keep your blog updated itself continuously, even when you are not online.

What is the need to schedule posts in WordPress?

There are many reasons why scheduling posts are necessary in your blog. For instance, many people want to post their articles or content early in the morning so the readers can read it while enjoying their morning tea.

Another reason for scheduling posts is the readers of other countries have different time zone than the blogger. Therefore, posting them according to their time zone is essential to keep the blog receiving great page views.

Or bloggers also don’t want their readers to wait for their posts while they are on some long vacation.

They can easily use some WordPress tools or plug-ins to schedule their posts at a certain date and time.

Scheduling posts in WordPress

  • Step 1: In order to publish the post as per your reader’s preference, you need to go to your WordPress Dashboard and click on the settings section. There you will find a General Menu that will lead you to Time Zone Option. You can make changes to your time zone and save it or if you don’t want to change the time zone, then skip the first step.
  • Step 2: When you complete your post in the WordPress, on the right hand side, you will see the Edit panel that is used to edit the post. In that section, you will see Publish meta-box. Click on the Edit link provided next to the Publish Immediately button as shown in image below.

  • Step 3: Now set the date and time you wish your post to be published. Mention the time in a 24-hour time format. Now click OK and then Schedule to publish the post on a particular time.
  • If you wish to re-schedule the post, then simply follow these steps again.

With the help of same procedure, you can re-publish the same posts that have already been published. You can also make a new post and make it appear as Published 2 days ago by using the same process.

WP Scheduled Posts: This will enable a widget in the dashboard through which, the admin or the author can simply schedule posts.

Editorial Calendar: This is an interesting tool that allows the admin to drag the posts on the calendar that automatically schedules it on a particular date and time.

Schedule Posts Calendar: It adds a JavaScript Calendar to the publish widget that allows the admin to select date and time graphically rather than scheduling it through text box.

You can also use Easy Scheduled Posts and Auto Schedule Posts as well, which perform similar to the above mentioned tools.
