Install your Cox TV mini box with 7 simple steps

So, you have upgraded your TV viewing experience and got the Cox TV mini box! As the package arrived at your doorstep, you have no idea on how to install the Cox TV Mini Box. Don’t fret; we are here to help you out. The entire Cox set up with the mini box, cables and remote control can be quite intimidating; so there is no need to scold yourself. However, the entire process of setting up the Cox TV Mini Box is quite simple and can be achieved by following the step by step guidance provided here. 

Step 1: Unpack your Cox TV Mini Box equipments. You’ll find the below equipments in the package.

Step 2: Switch off your television set. Once off, take out the Black COAX cable from the equipments. There will be two cables, one black and one blue as you can see in the picture above. Make sure to take the black one.

Step 3: Now take out the mini box and at the back locate the port saying ‘Cable from the wall’. Insert your black COAX cable here. Insert the other end of the cable into your wall outlet.

Step 4: Now look at the back of your TV and try to locate the HDMI port. If you cannot locate it do not get confused. Most probably it is an old TV set and does not have the High Definition feature. If you cannot locate the HDMI port, that’s okay too. You can still install COX TV mini box in it.  

  1. If you have located the HDMI port: If you can see the HDMI port, take the blue HDMI cable and insert it into the port. Plug the other end in the ‘HD to TV’ port on the back of your mini box.

  1. If you cannot find the HDMI port: If your TV does not have a HDMI port, simply insert the blue cable in COAX port on your TV. Now locate the ‘To TV’ port on the back of your Mini Box. Insert the other end of the blue cable here.

Step 5: Now take out the yellow power cable from the equipments. Locate the ‘Power’ port in the back of your TV Mini Box and insert the cable there. Plug the other end into the power outlet on your wall.

Step 6: Now it’s time to synchronise your TV with the Cox TV Mini Box. To do this, first switch on your television. Now press and hold the ‘Set up’ button till the ‘Power’ indicator blinks two times. Once you can see the ‘Power’ indicator blinking, press and leave ‘Power’ button. After this, press and hold ‘Select’ button. Hold it down till the time your device is completely switched off. 

Step 7: Now you are ready to use your Cox Mini box remote control on your TV. If you had the HDMI option on your TV, then simply press ‘input’ button on the Mini Box remote control device and select ‘HDMI’ option. In case you didn’t have the HDMI option on your TV, take your normal TV remote, switch on the television and go to Channel 3. Now, look at the back of you Mini Box and look at the CH 3/4 Switch option and make sure it is set to 3. If yes, you can now use the Mini Box remote on your TV.
