5 Tips on How to Make your Computer Faster

  1. Monitor temporary files and remove them daily.

Your computers hard drive is the main area where all processing activity takes place. This is also the prime target of innumerous internet files attaching themselves onto your hard disk. In fact every single activity on the net opens up a temporary file.   Using Disk Cleanup, you can effectively free your PC of hundreds of temp fiules that may even take up gigabytes of operating memory.

  1. Go to start menu                       
  2. All programs
  3. Accessories
  4. system tools
  5. Disk Cleanup
  6. select Temporary files

You could also download an effective registery cleaner like ccleaner or advanced system care from iobit. Paid antivirus programs such as Quickheal total security come with an added PC cleaner to boost PC performance.

  1. Defragment your hard drive

There are a number of files on your hard disk which when saved get fragmented into bits and pieces. When you try to access these files by opening a corresponding program, your processor will take an extra length of time to locate all of the scattered files. This delays the startup of a program and slows down computer speed.

The only method to resolve such a problem is to use your computers default defragmentation tool to organize files in a systematic manner.

Windows 7 and above: Start Menu → defrag in search bar →Defrag

  1. Stop saving large files on your desktop

Although saving your media and documents on the desktop may seem very convenient, these however are interfering with your hard drive.

The Desktop isn’t just a screen on your PC, it is your C: drive or the main processing drive of your computer reflected as your desktop. It is on the C: drive where all your important program files have been downloaded. Saving files on the desktop not only clutter up your programme files it can even corrupt them. Transferring all working documents and media files from the desktop and in MY documents to adjacent drives will speed up your computer.

  1. Remove uninstalled files form registry

When you uninstall a program, it may no longer be visible on your computer. However, there may be several files related to the deleted programme remaining in your registry.

Your computers registry is of vital importance to your computers operating system. It should never be tampered with. However there are several programmes online like Revo Uninstaller which when applied to uninstallation of programmes will also remove files rooted deep within the registry. This is one of the best ways to make your PC work faster. 

  1. Increase the size of your hard drive

If you are using your computer to a large extent with maximum amount of utilized memory then perhaps you should consider a hard disk with higher memory. Usually when a PC slows down, it could be due to insufficient memory. IN order to meet modern demands of processing you should ideally have a hard drive of 1 TB.

Since we are speaking of an upgrade then while you’re considering a larger disk drive it wouldn’t hurt to upgrade your ram to 2GB or more. Such specifications are ideal for optimized computer performance.
