How to Permanently Delete a Facebook Account

Facebook is the biggest social network, and has billions of active users. But, lately the user base of Facebook has been dying and many people have actually stopped using this social network.

And some of you might have thought of deleting your Facebook account altogether (Why else would you read this post?).

With this post, I’ll tell you how to properly delete your Facebook account with out leaving any traces.

I’ll also show you how to download all of your uploaded pictures from Facebook it you don’t have a copy of them with you.

Before deleting the account, you can have a copy of all of your info (including photos) from Facebook.

You can have a look at the lists of things included in the download from here. To download all of your data :

Facebook doesn’t really mention clearly how to delete an account, might find it difficult to find delete option if you check the settings. Forget that and follow these steps :

  1. Make sure that you are logged in to your Facebook account, in a different tab in your browser.
  2. Now, click on this link > Facebook’s account deletion form.

Just as simple as that! Your account will be deleted and all of the data (images, videos, etc.) will be lost.

And, if you don’t want to completely delete your account, you can always deactivate your account.

Deactivating your account just hides you from Facebook. Unlike deleting your account, all your data won’t be lost after deactivation.

Instead, it will be hidden from everyone and you’ll be able to reactivate the account and make everything back as normal when you sign in for the next time.

Steps to disable your Facebook account

  1. Go to settings page, just like I mentioned above.
  2. Go to Security tab.
  3. Find the ‘Deactivate my account’ option, click on that.
  4. On the next page, specify the reason for deactivating the account. (Select any one)
  5. Now click confirm button.

Now you’ve successfully deactivated your account. That’s all you have to do when you’re done with social media/Facebook.

Over to You:-

One important thing to note that is that, Facebook is not mentioning anywhere in their help page “How to delete your Facebook account”.

Facebook don’t want you to go, they want to maintain their population.
