How to Send Audio Messages from your iPhone?

admin May 21, 2015

When was the last time you could send audio messages to others? Your iPhone has such a feature and it has remained hidden in the device for some time. The iOS 8 was released last year and the Message app has continued to have this feature. It allows you to send audio messages with just a few taps.

But there is a limitation to the size of the audio messages – they should be short. They can include your voice or a small clip. It’s not as complex as the voice mail. There’s no need to waste time to dial.

  • Open the Messages app
  • Create a new message
  • Add a contact by tapping the + button
  • Now you will find a microphone icon
  • Tap-hold the button and record the message
  • Swipe the arrow up and send the audio message

The app also allows you to playback the audio message.

If you don’t send out the message, it will automatically get deleted after 2 minutes. However, you can set the message to remain there by using the following method:

  • Go to Settings and then to Messages
  • Look for “Expire” in Audio Messages and open it
  • Select between “Never” or “After 2 Minutes”

Before you start sending out audio messages, keep in mind that they can consume much more data than text messages.

Besides, a lot of such messages could also take up more space on your iPhone’s limited storage space. So it will be better to have the messages deleted automatically.
