How to Save on your iPhone’s Battery Life?

admin June 22, 2015

Your iPhone 6 gives you up to a day of talktime at the most. The older iPhones could provide only half a day of talktime.

Its battery life may not be of concern to you if you are at home or at the workplace and can charge it any time.

Imagine being out and having to remain on the phone more frequently.

You will have to take a few steps to ensure that your phone’s battery doesn’t give way too fast.

Here are some steps to help you get more juice out of your iPhone’s battery.

How to Save on your iPhone’s Battery Life

How to Save on your iPhone’s Battery Life

1. Turn on Auto Brightness

The ambient light sensor in your iPhone will automatically adjust the screen’s brightness based on the light conditions.

This tech will help improve screen visibility (while reducing strain on the eyes) and will also help save battery.

Use the following method to turn on “Auto-Brightness.”

  • Tap on “Settings”
  • Tap on “Display & Brightness” (iOS 7 users can tap on “Brightness & Wallpaper”)
  • Slide “Auto-Brightness” to On (it will become green)

2. Switch Off WiFi

If you don’t need to connect to the WiFi network, it is recommended not to leave it on. Just switch it off and save a little more battery.

There are many iPhone users who will keep their device’s WiFi on with the hope that they could come across a hotspot.

Whether there is a network or not, keeping your phone’s WiFi on will mean constant draining of battery life. How to switch off WiFi?

  • Tap on “Settings”
  • Tap on Wi-Fi
  • Slide the bar to Off (and it will turn white)

3. Turn Off Bluetooth

Similar to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth will also keep draining on your iPhone’s battery power.

If you are not currently using BT for data transfer or earpieces, make sure that it is switched off.

So how can you switch it off?

Use the following steps:

  • Tap on “Settings”
  • Tap on “Bluetooth”
  • Swipe the slider to off position (and it will turn white)

Bluetooth and WiFi could also be switched off from the Control Center.

All you have to do is swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone’s screen. Tap on both the options one after the other to turn them gray.

4. Switch Off Personal Hotspot

If you have been using the Personal Hotspot feature in your iPhone to share data connection, turning it off (when not required) can help save on the battery.

This feature turns your device into a wireless hotspot. It will allow it to broadcast its cellular data within the range.

But it will also drain your phone’s battery at a fast pace.

If you don’t switch it off, it will drain off the battery within a short period of time.
