How to Prevent Excess Power Consumption in iOS 8?

admin June 30, 2015

The wonderful features of the iOS 8 are remarkable but it runs out of battery. This operating system, if used on older Apple handsets such as iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, it would eat up a lot of battery.

The power consuming animations are the main reason for the faster battery exhaustion. Battery life on some of the phones is terrible and users have to change battery after a short while.

Here are a few easy guidelines which could help in extending the battery life of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Switch-Off Parallax – The parallax is a feature in iOS which makes the icons of the home screen float on top of the wallpaper.

This motion-sensing feature is eye-catching but it kills the battery. In order to disable this feature open General, then go to Accessibility, and then turn on Reduce Motion.

Disable Auto Updates – Disabling automatic updates of apps would reduce excess power consumption but this alone will not help. The iOS 8 has a feature App Refresh running in the background.

This is done by the feature either over cellular data or WiFi connectivity. This could also pull down the battery life. Turning it off could save power.

This can be done by going to the same General option and from there to Background App Refresh and turn it off.

Airplane Mode – It would be wise to Switch to Airplane Mode in those areas where the handset gets irregular cellular network.

This feature can be enabled from the Controls Centre. Open the plane option or it can be done by sliding on the Airplane Mode.
