WhatsApp has released a new Beta version for its BlackBerry users. BlackBerry has been one mobile platform on which the app hadn’t been able to build a respectable presence.
But with the release of the new version, especially for BB 10, it seems that the company is serious about its BlackBerry users. The new update is available on BlackBerry Beta Zone and will allow users to send free messages, but it will not yet enable you to make voice calls.
The new WhatsApp Beta version’s serial number is v2.11.1349.2. The most important thing about the new update is that it has received a large number of bug fixes over the previous versions.
Some of the main bug fixes include multi-select on chats list, double-tapping issues, issues with sending contacts, disappearance of new messages when last message was deleted, issues with QR Code scanning, issues with focus and navigation and much more.
You can now download and install the WhatsApp Beta from the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Use the following steps to get the latest update.
- Download and install the Beta Zone app on your BB device if you don’t have it already. It can be found in BlackBerry World.
- Open the Beta Zone on your BlackBerry 10 device. The app can be identified by its icon which features a ladybug under a magnifying glass.
- You will find an update in the Available List. Download it.
- Once the update is downloaded, click “Open”.
- Once installed, you will be ready to use the new WhatsApp version on your device.
If you don’t know about the version of the software you are currently using, it can be checked from Settings – About – Software Release.
Use these steps to take advantage of the latest version of WhatsApp, which is developed especially for your BlackBerry Device.
