Even if you have a new Twitter account, you will start finding a barrage of Tweets on the micro-blogging site every day.
It can be almost impossible to go through all of them.
Despite the social site enabling such a high level of engagement among its users, this is something that does “harm” its strengths as a social network.
It is in order to put some more control in its users’ hands that Twitter has launched the new “Highlights” feature for its Android app.
So the new Highlights feature keeps you informed about the tweets doing the rounds on the social site.
This is a wonderful feature for all those who are serious about interacting more effectively with their fans, especially businesses that rely on Twitter for promotion or customer service.
The feature is already available on Twitter but you will have to activate it to start getting alerts for what is important to you.
So how can you opt-in for this feature? Use the following steps:
- Open the Twitter app in your Android phone
- Tap on the three dots on the top right and on Settings
- Tap on the account name and open Mobile Notifications
- Scroll down and you will find “Highlights” and activate it by tapping on it
This will activate the new feature. Go back to Settings and you will find alert at the bottom that informs you that the notification settings are saved.
This feature will then start alerting you of only the most important tweets. Currently, the micro-blogging site has kept it restricted to only those users who are using English as their default language.
If you have multiple accounts, you will have to use the above-mentioned steps on each one of the accounts (only if you desire it for all the accounts).
Now you will be able to get access to all the important tweets that need your attention and will not find yourself lost in a jungle of tweets.
